4M   Phoenix Program

Reflecting on my time in the Phoenix Program is like looking back with hindsight.  In 1969, this covert CIA operation was shrouded in secrecy, with no one daring to speak openly about it.  I stumbled upon the program by chance, and it was not until after the war that I fully grasped its significance.  Despite the ongoing debate about its ethics, the Phoenix Program effectively dismantled the Viet Cong network and contributed to safeguarding American lives.

Since the end of the Vietnam War numerous books have been written about the program’s history.  The following two articles will give you a better understanding of the program.
